Selection of Our Tutors
The core of our team is recent graduates and students from elite universities such NYU, Columbia, New School and Cornell. Their expertise in various academic disciplines allows us to meet the needs of a broad variety of students with a wide range of objectives: from a middle schooler who needs homework help to a high schooler who is seeking to prepare for standardized exam. What is equally important is that every tutor enjoys working with teens. Students feel comfortable relating to someone who is a bit older but who is not a “teacher.” We create an environment that is conducive to learning and fun at the same time.
Training
All TCT team members are extensively trained in TCT methodology of teaching. Our tutors undergo intensive instruction, covering general teaching methods and specific TCT approaches in addressing subject- and exam- specific curriculum. Training continues when tutors are introduced to and matched with students, and tutors become familiarized with the particular student’s goals and needs.
Academic Coordinator
An Academic Coordinator is assigned to every family to serve as a liaison between the parent, tutor and student. The function of the Academic Coordinator is to develop customized study strategies and learning plans, consistently monitor the tutoring process by working with the tutor and family, and communicate with the family to discuss the student's needs and progress.
